Meet JC McDanry

Hi, I’m J.C. McDanry — a middle‑child, mom of nine, a regular hangout for half the neighborhood kids, and someone who survived over 38 years of chronic stress with grit, stubborn hope, and a faith that held when nothing else did. My life has never been peaceful, except my early childhood, but it has been survivable — even through the chapters I never wanted to have to go through. As they say, I have survived every hardest day of my life so far. That truth shapes everything I write and everything I build. My Amazon Author Page is:

I’ve lived through isolation, broken vehicles I couldn’t fix, and systems that separated families instead of supporting them. One of the most heartbreaking seasons was entering a shelter where my son couldn’t stay because he was male, a small for his age 12-year-old and we had to leave him out in the cold if we wanted to be able to stay there. It wasn’t the weather that hurt, we moved to that shelter in August. — it was the displacement, the loss, and the damage done by people who should have been safe. That moment changed both of us, and it became part of the reason ERMa exists. No family should ever be split apart by rules that ignore real life.

Faith carried me through more years than I can count — not the polished kind, but the lived kind that shows up in impossible timing, quiet provision, and strength that doesn’t make sense on paper. It’s woven through every chapter of my story, especially the ones I didn’t want to have to go through.

I write from real life: stretching meals, building stability in chaos, and finding ways to keep moving even when my body could only move freely in water. That’s why one of my long‑term dreams is a chlorine‑free pool — a place where people like me can do water aerobics without getting sick for days afterward. And I know I’m not the only one who needs that kind of space.

Everything I create — from side hustles to cookbooks to the Vista Peak vision — comes from resilience, practicality, and the belief that hope doesn’t require peace or abundance. It grows from what we have, right where we are, one honest step at a time.

Author Journey
Future Vision

My future vision is to build ERMa into a practical, accessible community space designed for real‑life needs. I imagine a place where people can learn basic auto upkeep, gain hands‑on experience, and move freely in disability‑friendly environments. One day, I hope to add equine therapy, aqua therapy, bee‑friendly gardens, and simple supports that make everyday life easier. It’s a long‑term dream, built slowly and honestly, one steady step at a time. My books are the first step after the planning, and the vision also includes living space for those willing to do the work. As ERMa grows, I hope to offer tax‑deductible opportunities for donors — including real estate — once the IRS completes its process. I will need more than one property to fulfill this vision, and I’m building toward it with steady faith and practical steps.

My Work

Author & Creator I write practical, encouraging books that help people build stability, hope, and healthier lives. My work includes bilingual health guides, side‑hustle resources, cookbooks, and memoir writing.

Nonprofit Founder I founded ERMa (Empowered Resource Management) to create a gentle, practical community space where people in crisis can rebuild their lives with dignity and support.

Community Service My work extends into hands‑on service: volunteering in soup lines and soup kitchens, making quilts and plastic‑bag sleeping mats for people experiencing homelessness, and supporting recovery communities like Celebrate Recovery. These experiences shape the heart of ERMa and the work I do. I also volunteer for Hands of Hope Northwest in Nampa Idaho.

.NONPROFIT

ERMa (Empowered Resource Management) is my long‑term vision: a community‑focused nonprofit designed to support people in crisis — including single mothers, domestic‑violence survivors, foster‑care graduates, veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities.

The goal is simple: practical support, temporary housing, life‑skills training, and a safe place to rebuild.

ERMa is being built one step at a time, shaped by decades of caregiving, community service, and lived experience.

COMMUNITY

Community has always been at the center of my life. I’ve served in soup kitchens and soup lines, made quilts and plastic‑bag sleeping mats for people experiencing homelessness, supported recovery communities like Celebrate Recovery, and volunteered wherever practical help was needed.

These experiences keep me grounded in real‑life needs and continue to shape the vision behind ERMa. My work is built on dignity, belonging, and practical hope — one small step at a time.

...Projects...

Life itself is a project. I’m always thinking, learning, testing, adapting, and trying things — kind of like a dog who’s been told “paws down” but still manages to inch back onto the couch one paw at a time. That’s me. I try something, adjust it, try again, and eventually it works. These are the projects that grew out of that process — recipes, side hustles, bilingual books, and anything else I’ve rebuilt until it behaved.

You didn’t come this far to stop! and as my daughter made a sign to remind me, You are much stronger than you know. Never ever give up!

Life in a Nutshell

My life has never been a straight line — it’s more like a dog who’s been told “paws down” but still manages to inch back onto the couch one paw at a time. I learn as I go, test things, adapt what doesn’t fit, and try again until something finally works. This is the nutshell version: a little stubborn, a little quirky, always curious, and always moving forward one small step (or paw) at a time..
